3 More

Posted May 28th, 2011 by Vicki No Comments

Only 3 more work entries and I’ll be done for most of the week!!! I will be glad to have them done and out of the way so that I can concentrate on finishing the fencing project, softball, laundry, the horse, and the millions of other projects that I have to do.

I love the flexability of my work, but even though it is very flexable, it still seems inconvienent at times. I am happy though that I am able to work at home though, as working outside the home would be even more inconvienent!!!

Today Is

A very special day!! Today is my Meg’s 10th birthday!!!

We really don’t have a lot planned for today, aside from softball practice later this afternoon, providing we don’t get rained out. I plan to stop by the store and get some cupcakes and juice for the whole team, to celebrate her birthday. However we are planning to have her birthday party on Saturday. Hopefully several of her friends will come!!!

For today we are going to pick up the house a bit, work on some crafting projects, maybe play some ball later, and then see what the day brings us.

Life Is Busy

Pitching Clinic ended this past week, and softball practice started. Life is certainly busy for the foreseeable future. Practices are 2 or 3 times a week. I also have acouple of trips to Topeka coming up, as well as another trip to KC in the next couple of weeks.

We took a trip up to KC this past week to get the girls new glasses. Meg also got contacts. She is so excited, and will be more excited when she can get ones that fit right. They mailed out a different brand that hopefully we will get this week. We are hoping those work better for her. Anyway, in another couple of months I will be able to get new contacts, which I will just order online. Des also will need new contacts in the next few months. It’s just our luck that both Meg and Des need the expensive kind.

Anyway, I’m trying to get a bit of work done, so I’ll move along now.

Things are progressing along quite nicely. We got Chief’s corral all cleaned out, so now we can work with him without fear of him hurting himself.

Pitching clinic for Des is coming along nicely, although I’d like to see her put in more practice time at home. I’m hoping that I can get her to go out here pretty soon and put in some practice time.

I’ve checked into dance lessons for the girls, as that’s something they’ve wanted to do for awhile, and we just haven’t had the money, but things are looking up for us, so come fall it’s possible the girls will be dancing.

Thursday we are planning a Kansas City trip for contacts and glasses. The trip is always long and dreadful, but it’s worth it for the price we get. Meg is going to get contact with any luck.

Well, that’s about all the updates I can think of for the moment.

Quicky Update

Posted April 6th, 2011 by Vicki No Comments

We didn’t wait for the end of this school year after all. I suppose I should have marked it on a calander what the official start date was, but I started homeschooling the girls a week or two ago. We just couldn’t stand the public system another minute, or maybe it was just that school.

Anyway, when I started talking to the girls about switching schools, they said they would rather be homeschooled again. I love it!!!!! I’ve really missed homeschooling them, and being with them!!

I’m sorry if I’m repeating stuff, I didn’t have time to reread what I had previously written, as I’m in a bit of a hurry to get things done tonight.

Busy Day

Posted March 28th, 2011 by Vicki No Comments

I’ve been up for almost 5 hours now. I’ll be glad when next school year rolls around so we won’t have to worry about getting up so early, but that is another story for another time, and perhaps even another blog, so be sure to check them all out, for the full story.

Anyway, after I took the girls to school and fed Chief I came home and started dinking around on the computer, and that’s what I’ve done all morning. An email or two, played a game on facebook for awhile, and took care of some work.

Now it’s about time for me to gather what I need and head into town to take care of some other business. Hopefully by the time I return home I will feel energetic enough to take care of laundry, dishes, and a few other household chores.

I’m off for now.

Life

Life sure isn’t easy sometimes. I took my car into the shop yesterday to get a tuneup, and oil change done on it, as well as having them look at my transmission. My transmission had been giving me problems for a few days. Anyway they told me it needs a new transmission. Fun fun.

So since the car could leave me stranded at any moment, I had no choice but to leave the car until they can fix it next week. So I’m left without a vehicle for a week, which wouldn’t really bother me, except I have no way to get the girls to school!!!

We are trying to find someone that will loan us a vehicle for a week, but neither Dad or I have hardly any friends.

Anyway, I suppose that’s life.

Sun!!!!

Posted February 22nd, 2011 by Vicki No Comments

I’m happy to have the sun come out lately. Yesterday was rather chilly with a cold wind, but today, like several other days in the past week, is just beautiful!!

I’ve been ready for the warm weather for at least a month now. I’m anxious to get out and ride bikes with the girls, play catch, soccer, and softball with them. As well as ready to go play with the horse.

There is supposed to be a couple of other days this next week that are on the cool side, but all in all, the weather is warming, and it’s none too soon!!

Busy Life

Posted February 22nd, 2011 by Vicki No Comments

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a personal entry, much too long in fact. Things have been really busy around here, that’s the only reason/excuse that I have.

Things have been pretty busy since the first part of this month. Plus I had a pretty bad sinus infection during that time as well, so I haven’t really been on the computer all that much.

I went in to see a Physician’s Assistant to start. I should have known better, as I’ve never had much luck with them, but I was so miserable and sick I wanted to see somebody, and my own Dr. was booked. Anyway, they diagnosed a sinus infection, which is laughable since I told them I had a sinus infection to start with. He prescribed an antibiotic that I’d never had before, even though I have a history of sinus infections, and the medicine I usually get when I have one. After a week of taking the medicine I wasn’t feeling any better at all, and the medicine made me so nauseas that I couldn’t function throughout the day. The following Monday I got in to see my Dr. He shakes his head when I tell him what the PA prescribed me. He gets out his paper and says he’s writing me a prescription for something that is much better than what the PA had prescribed. Within 2 doses I was already starting to feel better. I had a simular incident with a different PA last year.

I’m so happy to be feeling human again, especially with everything that has been going on, and the things we have planned in the upcoming weeks.

Chief

Posted February 3rd, 2011 by Vicki No Comments

Chief seemed to be the only one that enjoyed the blizzard. *LOL* Silly horse was having a good time prancing around, bucking and chasing snowflakes.

Oh chasing snowflakes isn’t at all odd for him. In the fall he loves to chase the blowing leaves. When he catches them, he eats them. *LOL* No he isn’t desperate for food, he loves leaves. He’ll eat leaves over hay.

Anyway, we are all anxiously awaiting spring. Chief is craving our attention. He wants to play. I really miss him too!! Oh yes, I see him 2 or 3 times every day, but haven’t been able to spend any time with him, as it’s been too cold. In the warm weather I like to take a chair down and sit in his corral and read to him. He is so funny when I do that. You’d almost think he was listening to the story and not simply my voice. He likes Louis L’Amour the best, probably because there’s lots of horses in those stories.
