Spine Surgery Dallas

Posted January 24th, 2012 by Vicki No Comments

With any luck we won’t be looking at Spine surgery Dallas
or anywhere closer to home either. I will agree that sometimes spine surgery is unavoidable, but we are hoping that we can avoid it this go-around.

Dad is going to a different chiropractor tomorrow. This chiropractor also does spinal decompression therapy, which is something we’ve never tried before. Everything is worth a try!! I am so anxious and hopeful that this will work for Dad, so that he can get back to work, and can avoid having surgery again!

Yard Sign

Posted January 24th, 2012 by Vicki 1 Comment

There are times that I think I should put up a yard sign saying “no visitors wanted”…there are other times that I think a sign saying “enter at your own risk” would be appropriate.

Wouldn’t life be easier if everyone just posted yard signs?? *LOL* I think it would. Then you wouldn’t stop in to see a friend if they were not in the mood for company. You would be forewarned of someone in a bad mood, and you would know that someone was busy working and would not interupt them.

Personalized Gifts For Kids

Posted January 24th, 2012 by Vicki No Comments

I just love getting personalized gifts for kids!!! I think, especially when they are younger, that if they receive something made just for them, that it makes them feel extra special!!

When my nephew was younger he received a book that had him as the leading charactor, along with his cousins and some neighborhood friends. He really liked that book!

I have always looked for personalized gifts for my girls as well.

Video Game Software

If you talked to my brother I’m sure he could give you all the details on how video game software has changed over the years. *LOL* He’s been a gamer forever. Me, I’m lucky to know what is the newest system on the market.

We do have plans to purchase a Wii at tax time, a year or two after they came into being. *LOL* Thankfully they are not obselete yet. *LOL*

Lucky to have a great sister

Thanks to Olga Quinn

I have the best big sister in the world. I am sure there are a lot of disbelievers out there that think they have the best sister, but I would be more than willing to argue. I decided a couple months ago that I needed my own place. I have been mooching off my parents for long enough. Having no idea what to do or where to go, I called my sister. She was a lifesaver. She found me the perfect apartment within my budget. She get me a great deal on internet through http://www.wildbluedeals.com/ that saved me a ton of money. She even wrote down tips to reduce energy bills. She has been so great throughout this entire process. I have always worried about the expense of living on my own, but with my sister’s help, I know I will be fine. She has walked me through every little step and every single detail. I know I can call her with any problems. I am so lucky to have a sister that doesn’t mind a helpless brother like me. I have been bothering her a lot with all my questions and she never complains. She is a wonderful person and I am so lucky to have her as my sister.

Laminate Flooring

Posted December 30th, 2011 by Vicki No Comments

I’ve done a lot of dreaming of my “someday home”. One of the things I’ve thought about is laminate flooring. I first thought I would want some of that floating floor, but I’ve discovered flaws with that. Two different people I know have used that, and not with good results, so I don’t want that. I’m thinking some nice good quality tile. I’m not a big fan of linolium, because if one part needs replaced you have to replace the whole floor, which is why I like tile. We’ll have to see though. Sometimes I wonder if I will ever have my “someday house”.

Yoga Sandals

Posted December 30th, 2011 by Vicki No Comments

I don’t think I will ever have a need for yoga sandals, but I am anxious for Dad to go back to work this next week, because I am going to start hitting the Rec Center and working out some. I miss the weight room, and I discovered, just as I feared, that since I quit smoking, I’m starting to gain weight again. I really don’t want to smoke again, but I refuse to be fat…So we’ll try exercise and then see where I end up.

Delivering to Brooklyn

Posted December 30th, 2011 by Vicki No Comments

I remember when my Dad drove his truck “over the road”. He always hated delivering to Brooklyn, Chicago, and places like that. Too big, too many people, and not designed for semi trucks.

I’d like to visit New York, and other large, well known cities, just to say that I’ve been there, but I wouldn’t want to live there, nor would I want to try and drive in such places. I don’t even like to drive in Kansas City!!!

HTC Reviews

Posted December 4th, 2011 by Vicki No Comments

Okay, so my first thought is to whine about how horrible I feel, but I won’t I promise. Neither do I have any particular interest in talking about the htc reviews though.

Perhaps I could talk about my nuisense cat, who won’t leave me alone to type. *LOL* He is climbing all over me purring up a storm. He’s so funny!!

Changing Perceptions

Written by my friend Judson Kelly

I know that when people all over the United States think about Idaho, all they think about is potatoes. I know that my state produces a lot of potatoes, but people have to know that there is more to Idaho that just potato farming? I am originally from Boise, but went to college in Florida, and was known simply as “Potato” at my dorm because I am from Idaho. I found it annoying at first, but eventually got used to it and stopped fighting people. I had to come to terms with the fact that there was nothing I could do to change people’s perceptions, and it wasn’t worth getting angry or upset. When I moved back to Boise after college I was happy to see that there were many Boise wireless internet providers. Things had changed a lot in the four years that I was gone. There was a new mall in the suburb I grew up in and all of a sudden Boise State’s football team was in the top five nationally. I couldn’t believe all of the companies that came into town in that short time I was gone. I’m hoping that as Boise grows people in the rest of the country will slowly stop thinking about us as the potato state.
