Gold Coins

Posted February 25th, 2012 by Vicki No Comments

There is an old saying “If wishes were horses, I’d have a whole herd”…well “If wishes were gold coins, I’d be a very wealthy woman” right about now…..

I do not let my wishes, my desires, my dreams, over-shadow my life. Not the far out ones anyway….I do not sit and morn the fact that I never learned to play the violin, or that I never traveled the rodeo circut…It’s just not in me to focus on all the things that didn’t happen….

New Toys

Posted February 15th, 2012 by Vicki No Comments

I’m so excited as I’ve gotten several new toys lately. I have a new breadmaker. I’ve never had one, but my Mother did years ago. I didn’t even think I would get one, but I found that my house was too cool for homemade bread to rise, and then I got to thinking that I wouldn’t be making bread during the summer, because I wouldn’t want to use the oven. The breadmaker solves both of those problems.

I also got a new steam cleaner. My old steam cleaner was on it’s last legs. *LOL* It made horrible clunking and squealing noises the last time I used it. It was close to being 10 years old anyway, so I can’t complain. I’m excited to have my new one, and can’t wait to try it out!!!

Mens Hats

Posted February 15th, 2012 by Vicki No Comments

Once upon a time my Dad used to wear ball caps, and sometimes his cowboy hat. Nowadays, you never see him wear a hat, so I don’t even bother to look at Mens Hats. I don’t wear hats either, never have….I’m not sure what it is, but I’ve never felt comfortable wearing hats of any type.

Well I suppose I should do something more than just sit at the computer today, and talk about clothing.

Titanium Accessories

Posted February 11th, 2012 by Vicki No Comments

Well it’s true that lately I haven’t exactly been thinking of titanium accessories. Things have been pretty busy around here.

I feel as if everything is kind of slipping, but hopefully over the next couple of weeks I can get everything back to normal. I’d like to spend some time on my blogs, and housecleaning certainly could use a boost, and getting school finished for the year, and work, as well as starting a new business….*LOL* I love my crazy life!!!

Man Can Not Live on Bread Alone

You know the saying “man can not live on bread alone?” Well, I would like to add that this man just can not live without internet either. So when my wife and I moved into our new house, one of the first things on my to-do list was to figure out what we were going to do about internet service. You see, I for one can not stand relying on one source to get my news. I’ve become evermore aware and frustrated with the “main stream media” and how they report their opinions rather than the facts. So instead of watching talking heads on tv, I prefer to look at a variety of websites for all of my news and make my own opinions. So with that said, I had to find a cheap, reliable internet provider. Luckily, one little Google search for directv satellite internet and I was set. So long talking heads, hello freedom of the press. Now that I’ve got my internet, wouldn’t you know that my wife is always on my laptop now on some website called Pinterest, so I guess it is time to get her that Ipad she has been bugging me about for the last year.

Quick Update

Posted January 24th, 2012 by Vicki No Comments

I am glad to see the work picking up for me. Right now it’s pretty important that I get all the work possible!!

As you read in the previous entry we are going to be trying a new therapy with Dad in hopes of avoiding back surgery. He’s already had surgery once and we aren’t looking forward to it again, for many reasons. We have an appointment set up for him to see a surgeon, but in the meantime we are going to try acouple of different things, in hopes that we can cancel the appointment with the surgeon.

Does anyone have any experience with Inversion Therapy using an inversion table?? We are also looking into that with hopes that it will work to help Dad.

Anyway, I know that it’s not much of an update about life, but perhaps another time I can sit and write a better update. Right now I’m off to another blog to do some more work.

Spine Surgery Dallas

Posted January 24th, 2012 by Vicki No Comments

With any luck we won’t be looking at Spine surgery Dallas
or anywhere closer to home either. I will agree that sometimes spine surgery is unavoidable, but we are hoping that we can avoid it this go-around.

Dad is going to a different chiropractor tomorrow. This chiropractor also does spinal decompression therapy, which is something we’ve never tried before. Everything is worth a try!! I am so anxious and hopeful that this will work for Dad, so that he can get back to work, and can avoid having surgery again!

Yard Sign

There are times that I think I should put up a yard sign saying “no visitors wanted”…there are other times that I think a sign saying “enter at your own risk” would be appropriate.

Wouldn’t life be easier if everyone just posted yard signs?? *LOL* I think it would. Then you wouldn’t stop in to see a friend if they were not in the mood for company. You would be forewarned of someone in a bad mood, and you would know that someone was busy working and would not interupt them.

Personalized Gifts For Kids

Posted January 24th, 2012 by Vicki No Comments

I just love getting personalized gifts for kids!!! I think, especially when they are younger, that if they receive something made just for them, that it makes them feel extra special!!

When my nephew was younger he received a book that had him as the leading charactor, along with his cousins and some neighborhood friends. He really liked that book!

I have always looked for personalized gifts for my girls as well.

School

Posted January 12th, 2012 by Vicki No Comments

School is beyond awesome here. I can’t believe the progress we’ve made this year!!!! I am soooooooooooo proud of my girls!!!!

We aren’t done yet, we have about another 10 weeks until the end, but I did all the figures tonight, and if we stay on schedule, we will complete TWO years of curriculum in everything except Language!!!!! Can you believe it???

What’s even more awesome is to see how much they have both learned and improved on!!!! Both of them have improved on their reading so much it’s unbelievable!!! Both have improved in their handwriting, but Megan’s improvement is so much so that you would think someone else did the writing!!! They both have had so much fun learning so much about history and science, which is something that is not taught much around here.

Spelling used to bug me sooooo much when we started out, because I would have to spell almost EVERY word they needed for a sentence, now they are able to spell so many of the words.

They are not at all behind in Language either, even though we will only be completing one year of language curriculum…..The language books are big books, filled to the brim with lots of new information. The parts of a letter, how to write a friendly letter, antonyms, synonyms, homonyms, subjects, predicates, nouns, pronouns, verbs, and the list goes on and on.

It’s just amazing to me the progress my girls have made, and I am so happy and proud!!! Another 10 weeks, and then a well deserved break!!!

I have already started planning for next year, and have already ordered a little of the curriculum. We will be throwing in some computer and typing classes, and a new health curriculum, but the core subjects will be from the same company for sure!!!
